I booked a 4 day 3 night deer hunt at Tarver Grove Plantation, and had the time of my life. I saw a ton of deer, and I harvested a buck and doe. The accommodations were great, and the food alone was worth the trip. I could not have asked for a more personalized hunt. I enjoyed it so much that two days after I got home, I called and reserved a hunt for next season.

My turkey hunting experience this spring at Tarver Grove Plantation couldn't have been better. When you find a place like Tarver Grove, you don't want too many people finding out about it. This is the first place I have ever found to hunt where I feel like I am hunting at my own farm and I don't want to share it with anyone. But after some thought, I realized that I want other fathers to be able to experience what I did with my son, Devin. Being able to sit behind Richey and Devin, and watch them call turkeys, was amazing. Devin didn't stop talking about the hunt all the way back to Savannah. I look forward to many more hunts at Tarver Grove and hope that other fathers get the experience with their sons that I did.

I have stayed in the Farm House on the property and it has all the comforts of home. The food was great, as well as the Southern Hospitality.
Dove season is coming soon and would be a great start to the season. The rates are reasonable and I know personally that there are plenty of doves. I hunted there during Turkey season. The first morning there were 12 Gobblers singing when it got light. My friend Ben killed his first Turkey the morning we hunted. Two weeks later I called in and killed my Turkey. I definitely recommend the Turkey hunting.Richey has trail cam pictures of several 8 and 10 point whitetail deer bucks that will score in the 130s and up. The deer have been managed for at least 6 years. It has really paid off.

My son and I hunted at Tarver Grove Plantation the first 3 days of Gun Season 2010. To sum up our experience we would say that EVERYTHING was above and beyond our expectations. During our stay I was able to harvest a large bodied 8 pt. buck, as well as a nice doe. We saw, by far, the most deer we have ever seen on a hunt.
As with the hunt, the accomodations and food could not have been better. Richey and his family were perfect hosts and provided a memorable experience that we hope to enjoy again someday.
