Tarver Grove Plantation was purchased by the Burge family in 2005. Most of the land comprising Tarver Grove Plantation was previously known, and still locally recognized, as Gold Hill Farm. In 2006, Rosie and Roger Burge decided to call the Plantation their permanent home, a far cry from their previous 16 years spent in Charlotte, NC. Their three sons, Roger, Chris and Richey, fell in love with the land and its wildlife.
From his first experience at a young age, Richey Burge has absolutely loved the sport of hunting. Naturally, Richey developed an enthusiastic interest in applied wildlife management. This interest led Richey to pursue a degree related to wildlife. In the fall of 2009, he received a B.S. in Wildlife Sciences from Auburn University. It has been a lifelong dream of Richey's to make a living sharing memorable experiences outdoors with other enthusiastic sporstmen. Upon graduation, Richey moved to Bartow to open Tarver Grove Plantation to hunters. With a tremendous amount of help from all members of the family, Tarver Grove Plantation opened its doors in the Spring of 2010.
